Bridges are fixed restorations that replace one or more missing teeth. They provide a long lasting alternative to gaps resulting from tooth loss.

The Benefits:

Bridges are fixed restorations that replace one or more missing teeth. If missing teeth are not replaced the adjacent teeth can tilt into there space, opposing teeth can over erupt and you may have trouble chewing.
Bridges are made from porcelain fused to a metal framework. With advances in technology, this metal framework can now be white (zirconia). This enhances the aesthetics of the bridge.

Advantages

Bridgework provides a fixed, aesthetic and long lasting alternative to removable denture that are often unstable, difficult to eat with and are bulky in the mouth.

How is it done?

A layer of approximately 1.5mm is removed from the teeth adjacent to the space. Impressions and a detailed shade analysis are taken and sent to a skilled technician who makes the bridge. Provisional bridgework is fitted to the teeth immediately whilst the bridge is being made.
