Crowns & Veneers

Veneers

Camden Place is at the forefront of veneer and crownwork dentistry and we pride ourselves on our expertise and professionalism and service Preston, Manchester, Liverpool and other surrounding Lancashire and Yorkshire areas.

With advances in technology, crown and veneers can all be made with ceramic frameworks, avoiding the need for any metal substructure.

These new materials used at Camden Place allow us to provide a  high quality aesthetic result.

The Benefits:

  • Veneers can change the shade, spacing, alignment, length or shape of teeth and give you a straighter, whiter, healthier smile.
  • A veneer is a thin wafer of porcelain, about the thickness of your fingernail; this is bonded to your tooth to produce the cosmetic improvement you desire.
  • Porcelain is unbeatable in achieving the look that you want. It has the colour, translucency and surface texture of real tooth enamel. It’s hard wearing, long lasting and will not discolour, even after may years.
  • Because of the high strength of the latest porcelain, veneers can be made in very thin sections, this in turn means very little tooth is removed during the preparation.

How is it done?

A layer of approximately 0.5mm is removed from the front of your tooth; impressions are then taken, along with a detailed shade analysis. All of this is sent to a skilled technician who will make the veneer. (In the meantime, a provisional veneer will be fitted.)

Crowns

The Benefits:

  • Crowns are used to cover broken, damaged or severely decayed teeth. Crownwork achieves much the same results as veneers. It is employed in situations where veneers would be unsuitable.
  • With advances in technology, it is now possible to provide porcelain bonded to ceramic crowns in almost any situation in the mouth. These have a more aesthetic appearance than the more traditional porcelain fused to metal crowns.

Advantages:

  • Since metal is no longer needed for crown, this means les tooth needed to be removed during preparation.
  • The time span between preparation and fitting of the crowns is as little as two weeks, allowing an almost immediate smile improvement.

How is it done?

A layer of approximately 1mm is removed from all around the tooth. Impressions and a detailed shade analysis are taken and sent to a skilled technician who makes the crown. A provisional crown is immediately fitted whilst this is being made.
