Private Dentist Camden Place Preston

Private Dentist, Camden Place Preston!

Looking for a new private dentist?

Having a private dentist used to only be done by a select few, now they are much more common and one of the best way for patients to get the correct and most reliable care their mouths deserve.

If you are thinking about joining our practice and were unsure of the benefits of private dental care within the UK then here are some points we think you’d find interesting.

  1. Although the NHS offers cheaper practice plans and treatment prices, the cost can still be as high as visiting a private dental practice. This is because the NHS works by providing a subsidised cost, therefore there is still a sum of money to pay by the patient.
  2. NHS dentistry does not cover all treatments, meaning you may still have to look to a private practice for the correct care and treatment for your teeth.
  3. Appointments are hard to secure. With the budget for NHS dentistry being relatively small this can have an impact on the availability of dentists, meaning that there may not be appointments available in your local area and you may need to look for another alternative.
  4. In an emergency, the quickest and most effective form of treatment is often given by a private dentist. As mentioned, NHS dentist’ availability is incredibly limited and at short notice this can be even more strained.
  5. Private dentistry is more affordable than ever! With practice plans, low-cost finance options and cheaper treatment costs, private dental practices must remain competitive in the market, therefore costs are being driven down.
  6. Cosmetic treatments are not usually given by NHS dentists, as their sole purpose is to ensure that your teeth and gums are healthy. Teeth whitening, Invisalign clear braces and veneers will not usually be covered by an NHS dentist.
  7. The UK has very highly trained private dentists who offer the most cutting edge treatments to their patients which include teeth whitening and teeth straightening treatments.

So, there we have it, just some of the reasons why going private could be the best option for you and your teeth. If you’re interested in our price plan or would simply like to discuss the options available to you then please do not hesitate to contact us, or call 01772 556 050 to arrange a free consultation.

Dental Hygiene: Are you getting regular check-ups?

Keeping your mouth looking clean and healthy should be important to you. But, keeping up to date with appointments that you’d probably rather not attend should also be just as important.

Many of us would rather not visit the dentist for a check-up but trust us it’s in your best interests to do it. You need to listen to what your dentist tells you, if they recommend an appointment in 3 months or 6 months it’s usually for a reason.

Why do I need a dental check-up?

These dental check-ups allow your dentist to see if you have any dental issues which need resolving and help you maintain a healthy mouth. Leaving any problems untreated can not only make them more difficult to remedy in the future, but it can also affect your overall health and well-being. Doing this helps identify problems early or even prevent them entirely.

Problems such as oral cancer, plaque, tartar, cavities and gum disease are just some of the reasons you should be visiting your dentist for a check-up on a regular basis. Leaving some of these issues without diagnosis can not only cause your oral health to deteriorate they can also very quickly become life threatening. Your dentist will be able to spot any of the symptoms associated and inform you on what would be the best option for you to take.

Keeping your mouth clean also helps to maintain your oral health. Here at Camden Place Dental Practice Preston we take pride in providing our patients with the best available care. Our Dental Hygienist, Justine, plays an essential role in preventing gum disease, tooth decay and other related dental issues.

Her role includes scaling teeth, polishing teeth, cleaning teeth and applying topical fluoride and fissure sealants. Justine is a wonderful and essential part of the Camden Place Dental Practice team and provides a high level of patient care and customer service to those who visit us in clinic.

If you have any queries regarding a dental check-up or are interested in booking a dental hygiene appointment at our Preston practice please contact us here or call 01772 556 050.

Preston’s Leading Dental Implant Dentist

Expert Dental Implant Dentistry!

Here at Camden Place Dental Practice, Preston, we are proud to be one of the North West’s leading clinics for dental implant surgery. Our team of highly qualified staff and surgeons make us the perfect choice for your dental implant needs.

Dr. Hamza Sheikh, our lead implant dentist, was one of the youngest dentists to ever achieve the accolade of a Masters (Msc) in Dental Implantology and has since placed and restored thousands of dental implants in the past couple of years at Camden Place Dental Practice, Preston.

Dr. Sheikh now uses minimally-invasive surgical techniques to make the dental implant procedure a more pain-free and pleasant experience for his patients. Using this method, Dr. Sheikh not only provides a more comfortable journey for the patient, he also ensures a guaranteed treatment success. This is why most of our patients report little to no discomfort post-surgery from their dental implants.

Dental implant treatments can include immediate dental implants, implants for single tooth replacements, implants for the replacement of multiple teeth, full jaw replacement (both fixed and removable) and even implants to anchor dentures.

At Camden Place Preston, we work with you to find the best solution to your dental problem. We offer a free complementary consultation with our dental implant dentists at our Preston clinic so you can get a full understanding of what will work best for you and your teeth. We take x-rays of the mouth and have an extensive discussion with you to determine the best possible implant option for you. In case you are nervous about the procedure we are happy to offer intravenous sedation to help you relax and eliminate feelings of anxiety and pain.

Not only does Dr. Sheikh work with patients in the surgery, he also lectures on various dental implant topics as well as mentors other dentists training in this field.

What a dentist’s website says about them

We spent a long time working with Blush Digital who built our new website earlier this year and a lot of thought went into each page.

We sat down with the designers and thought about what sort of wording should be on the page, but more importantly, where it would go on the page, and where the images would go. The reason we spent a long time looking into this is because we want our patients to find the information that they’re looking for as easily as possible.

We believe that the scrupulous effort we put into the website, shows to our potential patients that we are the same with the work we carry out on your smile. We want all of the people who visit us for help to leave happily, willing to refer our practice to their family or friends who will come for that same experience.

Does our website cover everything?

We’re not naive, we know there will be some questions left unanswered, but that’s what the phone is for! Give us a call on 01772 556 050 and our friendly staff will answer all of your queries.

Pax i3D Machine at Camden Place, Preston

CBCT and Panoramic scanner for accurate placement of dental Implants

Here at Camden Place Dental Practice we have invested in our very own cone beam CT (CBCT) and panoramic scanner, the Vatech PAX-i3D. With this new technology we are able to provide patients and referring dentist with the highest level of clinical care, accurate planning and placement of dental Implants.

What is a cone beam CT scanner?

CBCT ScanDental cone beam computed tomography (CT)  is a special type of x-ray machine used in situations where regular dental x-rays are not sufficient. This type of CT scanner uses a special type of technology to create three dimensional (3-D) images of dental structures, nerve paths, soft tissues and bone in a single scan. Images obtained with cone beam CT allow for more precise treatment planning.

What is a cone beam CT scanner used for?

A cone beam CT scanner can be used for a variety of different reasons, we at Camden Place Dental Practice primarily use the cone beam CT scanner for:

  • Evaluation of the jaw bone, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity for accurate planning and placement of dental Implants
  • Minimally invasive Guided Implant Surgery such as ‘All on 4’
  • Surgical planning for impacted teeth
  • Complex endodontic surgery

The CBCT scanner can also be used for:

  • TMJ ( temporomandibular joint disorder) diagnosis
  • Orthodontic treatment
  • Perio disease
  • Diagnosis of infection
What is a Panoramic X-ray?

CBCT Scanpanoramic x-ray, is a two-dimensional (2-D) dental X-ray that captures the entire mouth in one single image, including the upper and lower teeth, jaws and the maxillary sinuses.

What a Panoramic X-Ray is used for?

A Panoramic X-Ray, like a CBCT scan can be used for:

  • Planning of simple Implant cases
  • Endodontic surgery
  • Impacted wisdom teeth
  • cavities

Camden Place Dental Practice is one of the few dental practices in Preston that offer this amazing technology.

Dental implants vs Dental bridge

Dental Implant Placement

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium screw used to support one or more false teeth. Dental implants replace the root of a tooth when it fails. Just like a tooth root, the dental implant(s) preserves the jawbone. A crown or bridge will be used to restore the implants.

Are dental implants safe, and how long do they last?

Implants are a well-established treatment and are safe, implants, much like natural teeth, will last for as long as you care for them with regular maintenance visits.

Can implants replace missing teeth?

Yes, implants can replace one missing tooth to several missing teeth  without affecting the adjacent teeth. Implants can also be used to replace all teeth (same day teeth) that have been lost or extracted years before.

Bridge              Dental bridge

What is a dental bridge?

Bridges are fixed prosthetic devices that are cemented onto existing teeth by a dentist. Bridges are commonly used to cover a space if you’re missing one or more teeth. They are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the space where the natural tooth is missing.

Are dental bridges safe, and how long do they last?

Dental bridges are safe, but the adjacent teeth need preparing to be able to place the crown with the attached tooth to fill the gap. Preparation involves re-contouring these teeth by removing a portion of enamel to allow room for a crown to be placed over them. By re-contouring the adjacent teeth, may result in the tooth to become sensitive or for the tooth needing a root filling. Bridges can last up to 10 years on average.

Whenever a tooth is lost or extracted a considerable amount of the bone that once surrounded the remaining root may disappear. This loss can be particularly rapid during the first few months and is described as ‘bone resorption’. It will always occur to some extent, unless specific care is taken to reduce its effects.

Dental Implants Preston

Dental Implants – Budapest or Preston for your treatment?

Dental implants mimic a root that supports a tooth or multiple teeth. The implant can be placed to replace any missing tooth or teeth within the mouth. This final result is a long-lasting, fixed and permanent replacement of tooth/teeth.

Many people go abroad for treatments such as Dental Implants. Some clinics are great but it’s a shame we can’t say that for all of them.

One major problem of going abroad to receive this treatment is who will look after your implants once your return home. The dental implant system is normally not use in the UK so we cannot get replacement parts that you will need. If you come across a clinic that can give you immediate dental implants and results, you should be wary. This approach leads to increased failure rates. The best approach for dental implants is to do things slowly.

One of our patients had an implant consultation in London for a treatment, which was going to be done in Budapest. She admitted that dental implants would be a lot cheaper overseas, but was unsure of proceeding, which brought her to Camden Place Dental Practice for a second opinion.

We proposed bone grafting with sinus lifting and 6 implants evenly spread across the jaw and fixed 12-teeth bridge, which meant no more dentures for our patient! Our patient is very grateful for having the treatment here at Camden Place Dental Practice. To her it was a job well done and had no regrets of her choice of place to have the dental implants treatment.

We also offer a FREE implant consultation with your implant surgeon!

If you have any questions regarding the dental implants process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly and professional team at Camden Place Dental Practice in Preston by calling 01772 556 050.
