Dental Hygienist Role
Dental Hygienists play an essential role in a preventative dental practice, making sure that patients teeth and mouths are clean and maintained. Dental Hygienists are skilled professionals who have a key part to play in the prevention and treatment of gum disease and other related dental issues, such as tooth decay and the overall health of the mouth. Gum disease is the biggest single cause of adult tooth loss and a problem which we take very seriously. Therefore seeing our dental hygienist Justine, or any dental hygienist on a regular basis, would be the best way to make sure you are looking after your teeth properly, and that they receive a thorough clean.
Dental hygienists carry out procedures such as:
- scaling teeth
- polishing teeth
- cleaning teeth
- applying topical fluoride and fissure sealants
They also have a very important part to play in preventing tooth decay and the associated problems like bad breath by providing oral health education and advice, fissure sealing teeth and Fluoride treatments.
As patients keep their teeth for longer these days, the emphasis on hygienist services and dentistry in general is changing from treatment to prevention and Dental Hygienists are one of the most important personnel in delivering this change. They provide a high level of patient care and customer service, and Justine is an essential part of the Camden Place Dental Practice team. She provides a fantastic service to those looking to maintain their dental health.
