History
Allen did not want to wear a loose lower partial denture any longer and wanted a bottom denture that was more secure.
Clinical Situation
One of the reasons that the existing partial denture had become loose was because the adjacent teeth were becoming loose as well.
Solution
To remove all the loose and infected adjacent teeth, place 2 implants with small locators that helped to ‘click’ in a lower full denture. This would give the denture complete stability and retention during chewing.
Conclusion
Lower dentures a known for moving around in the mouth. The tongue, cheeks and lips all contribute to de-stabilising a lower denture; only 2 implants in the lower jaw can stop all this from happening.
